WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Surgical Aid for Kenya is successful because we have support from partnering organizations. We are a small team of volunteers and depend on the help of others to facilitate our surgical trips. We would like to thank a few partners here.
Kinondo Kwetu Hospital is our partner hospital, and the only one that we practice at. We work side by side with the hospital staff to provide patients with the best possible care. The CEO of Kinondo Kwetu Hospital makes sure that we receive Kenyan medical licenses and are meeting the requirements of the Kenyan healthcare system.
Kinondo Kwetu Trust has supported us behind the scenes from the beginning. We originally met the founders of the trust, who then introduced us to the amazing hospital staff. Kinondo Kwetu Trust has provided fundraising for previous trips. The Trust has also linked us with people who are helping us to file for NGO status within Kenya.
Tett Safaris is our go to for all things related to traveling within Kenya. Many members of our team had never been to Kenya prior to our first surgical trip, so we had many questions. Tett Safaris providing information about safe areas to stay, and even references for specific hotels that could host our groups. Tett Safaris also helped us learn about the domestic traveling within Kenya, how to efficiently get from Nairobi to Diani and which airlines would accommodate our extra baggage from the donations we bring.
Kinondo Kwetu Hospital
Kinondo Kwetu Hospital is one of two private hospitals in Kwale County, Kenya. The hospital was established in 2008 by the Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund. The hospital was created due to the lack of healthcare access to the local villagers. The hospital is ranked as a Level IV hospital; a sub county private hospital with primary facilities. Kinondo Kwetu Hospital is comprised of 42 beds in various wards: male, female, pediatric, labor, and post-natal. The hospital now sees over 100,000 patients annually including over 1000 babies born in 2022. Kinondo Kwetu has two operating rooms that are made available to us during our mission trips.
Kinondo Kwetu Trust
Kinondo Kwetu Trust was started after the owners of the Kinondo Kwetu Hotel saw that villagers near their hotel had little to no access to healthcare and very little access to schooling. The population of Kinondo are among those with the lowest income per capita in Kenya, and the trust is working to support these villagers. There are three main focuses of Kinondo Kwetu Trust: to run a high-quality health center, to support a primary school, and to sponsor children whose parents cannot pay.
